Story behind the song
DeVon Smith lived in Western Pennsylvania and made amazing robots out of junk. He also hitchhiked all over the world and was once in the Guinness Book of World Records for doing so. He was not only a dreamer but a mover and a shaker, and out of almost nothing he created a beautiful world for himself. DeVon died in May 2003. I wrote this song in January 2001.
