Staring at Snow Falling, Waiting
To be listened on good speakers/headphones! Improvised on Christmas 2010 with an acoustic guitar on looper and effects, puredata programming, Kurzweil Piano sound. Inspired by snow in London and happenings to my friends and loved ones around me.
Dance accompanist by day. Composer by night. Mainly composes classical contemporary music for fun, choreography or films.
Story behind the song
This piece is not for the impatient.
So is Life, Love, Snow Falling.
Watching and waiting for something to happen, success to come, love to develop, character to unfold. It could just pass by, a fleeting moment, a glimpse. Or it may not happen at all.
We can only relish and attempt, often too unnecessarily, to grasp the transient, but it all goes on, relentlessly often with little happening.
Let us learn to watch things go by, smile, let go, ask for nothing and continue to give, and stare at the snow falling, waiting and smiling.
Merry Christmas.
Composer's Notes:
Guitar with effects looping (relentlessly) in the background.
Puredata programming from scratch with self-made Schroeder Reverb with random parameters. Random generators to create sounds that even I can/do not predict. Improvised piano to the soundscape.
3 seemingly separate entities, with 1 which is almost random, we can only sit back, listen, watch what happens, react and move on.
