Lyrics
"Call the natives, Tell them to bring the boat. Because without it we’re stuck, On this remote, faraway place." Stead left Clavering to go find aid, Yet it seemed that their death Had already been made. What was the point of struggling to live. When all they had was their lives to give. Clavering thought about that enormous snail, Why had it grown to the size of a whale, When no present threat challenged the snails, In this remote and faraway place. Was it a message from god, Or an eccentric creation from mankind itself? Clavering would never understand, Unless he could escape, Back… home… towards the mainland. The snails were enraged, Now there was no going back. After going on a rampage, The boat sank to the mighty snail‘s abominable fang. Stead and Clavering must now collaborate, Yet Clavering’s pain seemed to lacerate his spirit… What was the point of struggling to live. When all they had was their lives to give. They’d work together, only to survive. For the fear of the snails… it made them writhe. An inaudible fear, filled the two, This formidable opponent, left them not knowing what to do. Where they go, I just don’t know, But they had no time to take it slow. Do they hide up in a tree, Hopefully hidden so the snail can’t see. Waiting… hoping… praying to live. When all they had was their lives to give. The boat comes near, the natives approach. Ready to take, our heroes home. A much safer place, Half and Half, they share the fame. The fame from giving the snails their name. Clavering gave Stead, half of the credit. Because without the other, neither’d have made it. New born friends, out of an ironic scene. New partners in science, is that what this means? Should we expect, great things from this pair. Or will they do something, of which we don’t care? This is the way, it continued on, for a long, long time…. Stead was wistful, wanting to go back. With his own eyes, he’d scrutinize, The mighty snails, of old folk tales. He wanted to learn, Wanted to earn, Knowledge of the snails… the mighty snails. ************* Meanwhile back, at Washington D.C. “Oh Mister President, why can’t you see? These snails are a threat, They do us harm. Now is the time, to take up our arms.” We must Exterminate! Terminate! Why do you hallucinate? They are only mortal, Let’s make them ashpyxiate! Burried alive! Surly these snails, they will not survive!
