I fell in love at the tender age of five. I fell in love with music. It was that magical moment when I heard Karyn White's soulful voice crooning through my sister's old-school Sony boom-box. I didn't really understand the lyrics she sang, but I could feel her passion bleeding from every note, every harmony and every word. That fateful moment changed my life forever... My encounter with Karyn led to my discovery that I too posessed the gift of song. I can remember my very first talent show... as I stepped on stage, I was overwhelmed by nervousness and anxiety. As sixty or so pairs of eyes stared intently at me, I wished I was Dorothy, so I could click my heels and fly home. But as I uttered the first few lyrics to Christina Aguilera's "Blessed", I saw the faces in the audience light up with so much joy and peace.
