original folk blues country
I was born William Allen Armfield in Kokomo, Indiana in 1950. I studied music from age 6 to age 18. I was involved in folk music all through high school, sang in local groups and planned on furthering my musical education in college. Unfortunately, I allowed myself to get sidetracked by the U.S. Army. After a tour in Vietnam I was discharged and it seemed I just couldn't get back on track musically. I went to college in wildlife management, got out of college, got a job, got married, got a job, bought a house, got a job, moved south, got a job on a survey crew working in the Glades and on the beaches, the roads and highways of beautiful South Florida for 25 years. Now I'm retired and back at music. I've written a few songs and I'll have them on this web site. If you like them tell me so. If not, well you can tell me that too. I plan on singing as long as my voice holds out and writing until they take me out of the house toes up. Hopefully, that won't be for quite a while, so check back now and then for new songs! Thank you, Willie Allen, Sage of the Acreage Oh, Yeah, I fish a lot!!

Story behind the song
Years ago, I moved out west of town to unincorporated West Palm Beach for the peace and quiet. Back then, it was pretty wild here in South Florida - at least inland. With the western expansion, those days are all but gone.
