The ORIGINAL Demo for Super Mario Bros. Theme. recorded on Analog Tape on a Lithium demo from 2001. That's why the sound is so bad and sketchy.

Seattle Area studio video-game music cover project, headed by Mad-Mike.
Project 2A03 is a one-man video game music cover project, spawning all the way back to the dark days of the Atari 2600, all the way forward through early 90's PC and SNES games. The nucleus was an instrumental on the original LIthium Demos from 2001 called "Burning House" which had an 8-bit NES game like melodic quality to the music, so I initially started making tapes under the name "Game Genie" eventually changing it to Project 2A03 to prevent copyright issues.

Story behind the song
Waaay back, in 2001, I joined a Montgomery Alabama based Metal Band called Lithium as the lead guitarist. At their shows I did guitar solos, and often threw bits of Nintendo music in with the usual jam/metal/showoff stuff. As a joke, I used to throw random weird shit on my demo tapes just for my own amusement, this was one of them, the full Super Mario Bros. theme. It was one of those things to make you look crossways, lol. It was recorded on the trusty Jag-Stang double track, with a Casio SA-100 delivering the drums, and the allmighty Ironbird bass, that's all I had to work with, on a 200 Watt Peavey XR684 PA Mixer, and 2 Sony Tape Decks, and a bunch of questionably soldered wires.
