Story behind the song
'Optimistic Blues' was the original title for this song because Graham thought the music was so melancholic, but the lyrics almost contradicted it. We changed it later, because having the word 'blues' in the title was a bit misleading musically and had no bearing on the lyrics at all.
Lyrics
Verse 1: See your reflection in a pool of tears Look around you, see your hidden fears Hear the silence deep within your soul Stop the chatter before it takes control. Chorus !: Hold your head up high No whisper, no sigh Learn how to fly Soaring up to the sky. Verse 2: Feel your hearbeat within the sacred shine Clear the clutter, make space for light to shine. Know yourself well, the hardest thing to do Taking lifetimes, your heart guiding you through. Chorus 2: Hold your head up high No whisper, no sigh Learn how to fly Worth giving a try Learn how to fly Soaring up to the sky.
