Lyrics
Don’t Know Scotch. Don’t Know Bourbon. Don’t Know Jack. ©2011 Robert “Jim” Allard & Tim Wheeler VERSE 1 From Scotland and Kentucky and the hills of Tennessee Come the finest blends of whiskey you can drink I’m ashamed to tell I knew them much too well And It brought you misery But, when you left town, I poured my bottles down the sink Then you told me you’re not coming back Unless you knew I’d quit for for good So, I wrote a little song for you To make sure you understood CHORUS Don’t know Scotch, don’t know bourbon, don’t know Jack Just one thing I know for certain; One Sheer, cold, hard fact Of all the things I chose to do, Knowing them got rid of you And if you think I quit to get you back Y’ Don’t know Scotch, don’t know bourbon, don’t know Jack VERSE 2 You used to say I drank to spite you, and nagged me every day ‘Cause I’d always sit and pour my whiskeys, tall But the urge to drink done left me when you turned & drove away ‘Cause you’re the reason that I learned to drink at all CHORUS BRIDGE Twelve weeks clean and sober made it plain and clear to me Now, I can remember... what a pain you used to be CHORUS TAG Y’ Don’t know scotch, don’t know bourbon, don’t know Jack? Y’ Don’t know scotch, don’t know bourbon, don’t know Jack
