As Life Withers started in 2004 when I (Matt) decided to make music from a personal standpoint which at the time was a depressed one. I wanted to create my own form of meloncholic music that is not gothic, emo, or even doom, but I can understand if someone compares my music to one of those genres. I am striving to create music with the intricacy of Opeth and the bleakness of Katatonia. Now I am trying to start working once again on this solo project of mine, focusing on long songs that create different atmospheres. One moment it may sound like melodic black metal, the next it may sound like dark rock, whatever the sub-genre you would like to label it as, to me it is just depressing

Story behind the song
When I wrote this song it was very experimental because it was the first song with the true As Life Withers sound. It was the only completed song pre to a breakup. I always think these crazy negative thoughts, and I basically wrote those thoughts down for the lyrics.
