A song that builds... with one message. Focus on the Son.
punk rock texas emo kingsville christian up till dawn vessels of praise
Emo rock, in it's purest form, since the songs are pretty much whatever is floating around inside Richard's head. It sounds much better thanks to Ness, Jimmy,
Hey, remember the band 35 Pennies? Neither do I. Remember Ignite? That's what I thought. Well, now this band is either 35 Pennies with a new singer/songwriter, or Ignite minus a piano player and constant pressure to "play softer". Yeah, I am Richard, and I write and sing the songs and play acoustic guitar... which is hardly ever needed. Ness plays the Electric, Jimmy slaps the bass, and Eric beats the living daylights out of everything... which is why we gave him sticks and a drumset. Enjoy the music.

Story behind the song
I was beginning to jam with my band, and I realized that everything I was doing, not just music, needed to be for God, focused on only him. Ness had his electric and half-stack at my house, so that made the creative part of the song much easier. I have always loved the chord progression in the chorus.
Lyrics
Don't cry... over things you've done. The past is over, the future has begun. Don't whine... about what should have been. God has given you this day, so live it for Him. The past is gone, the new has come. Keep your eyes focused on the Son. The past is gone, the new has come. Keep your eyes focused on the Son. Don't hold back... give all you have to give. What's the point of living if you never really live? Don't worry... learn from the past... and keep your eyes focused on the only thing that lasts. Don't hesitate to turn from all your doubts and fears, cause if you really think about it, any day could be a new year.
