A song about wanting to be older
I've been writing songs since i was 12. Mostly light pop type stuff, but the last few years I've really started to write with better chords and arrangements, stuff thats a bit more than "pop". I really dont know what to call my music anymore. It's really a combination of lots of different styles.
Story behind the song
I wrote this when I was 19. I was frustrated about the fact that I had to wait until I was older to do the things that I wanted to do in life, i.e. get married, start a family, etc. So the song is basically about how much better things will (hypothetically) be in 10 years, when I'm 29.
Lyrics
Ten years from this day,
so long but I still can't wait.
My mind is there,
now time's gotta catch up.
That girl I dream about,
could someday be my wife.
Make a home with a child or two,
with a simple house,
and simple life.
Nineteen can be so lonely,
stuck here and I know my only,
happiness will come to me,
when the years I fear let go of me.
That girl I dream about,
could someday be my wife.
Make a home with a child or two,
with a simple house,
and simple life.
Everyone says it'll be alright,
but I'm not sure of anything tonight.
