So good with semantics.....
writers should write and singers should sing
that’s how it ought to be
but I have to be a singer/songwriter

With a touch of finesse

Fashioned words out of gold

No point in competing
With Wordsworth and Keats; in
Their soul there’s still beating a heart
Those hopeless romantics
So good with semantics
Remind me I won’t be a bard
I wish they were here
Creating atmosphere
For when our eyes meet
Then my heart skips a beat
And those couplets, so neat, disappear
Words can tease you
Words can lie
Words can lift you
To the sky
Cast aside the art
I’m stumbling in the dark
So can it be wrong
That the words of a song
Could be right, all along, from the start
