Story behind the song
a song written ass-backwards... existed for a few years as basically a long a'cappela exercise. then I played it for $bill and we commenced to shoe horn instruments in, through and around it!
Lyrics
The accomplished fashion show strutter, Barnyard clucker Seaweed wear-away danger Pointed at the target Sir Isaac gets out... of town White as a sheet in the Fall collection Older than Mohito Last of the Mohicans White gemstone is a dog's reward Easter has ended and I still don't have a creative thought Looking at ideas like a fire gone out; Among the elms and evergreens Breathing air like the biggest bear The mannerly men say "cut it out!" And the antlered animal is the prize of the fabric Folds in the octopus arms Check it out, Comforting words are quite uncommon Rate of walking for one listening as we go Arrange the business suits in addition to the work Electric doorway, toil over, ending in "not guilty!" Blue as a vowel in the French Connection Hotter than aloha – a lei, a wrap, a boa Pisces moon is a dog's reward Excuse the accused for refusing to lose And choosing his new zoot suit! Siren assistant, baby powder, hare gel "Look who just showed up" Competing for special attention Poor grade, short on long division Stating the story as it fizzles out Two-tone armor is prompting a please Ala carte, hasta la vista Baby ballet One of the great yak-yak cut into smaller pieces King Lear on the A-team Relative rabbit, Female mouse-catching device we're leaping out...

So much to enjoy in this track, never know which way it will go next which I find fascinating. The twists and turns, light and shade, subtle and loud complimentary parts are absolutely brilliant. Very impressive arrangement and performances and thoroughly entertaining.

Wow, I've got the feeling of going back in time immediately. To the Progressive Rock scene of the 70's. It's a kind of mixture of Rock and Classical. With a complicated structure and melodies and a kind of Celtic influence. Vocals are very good. And the lead guitar (reminds me of Queen) as well. Yes, I believe you were working on it for a long period and the result is really brilliant, Bill and Matt. Just perfectly made and mixed. Really enjoyed it and hope there is coming much more of you two.

I thought I recognized your hand in this, Morgan. Fantastic band you have managed to establish here. This is really Major League stuff and reminds me of some of the very best and experimenting progrock bands through the times. A little like Jethro Tull meets Frank Zappa. The vocals shine and the akward, "story-telling" phrasing of the lyrics is both entertaining and amusing, like the lyrics themselves. This is magnificent. Classical rock!

Uh, brilliant...I think? A SC masterpiece for sure. Way above my pay grade. I can only marvel at the arrangement and composition. I hear Zappa, a little Brian May, classical elements. Awesome vocal arrangements and singing. Wonderful background compositional movements. If $Bill is a village idiot then I am petrified sputum from a Neanderthal! I wonder how long it took to produce this music? Awesome Dave and Matt! P.S. I always wanted to learn how to play the ratchet. Toy piano - unbelievable! What a kick in the knickers.

A very ambitious Prog piece. I hear lots of influences, but very original as well! The whimsy is marvelous.

A massive progressive rock composition with so many interesting and fantastic melodies, rhythms and musical interludes/movements. Killer vocals and spoken word phrases. Awesome change at the 3:33 mark.. Exquisite arrangement and the production is spectacular. You guys are on a level that is difficult for my humble musical brain to comprehend. MASTERFUL!!!!!!

An excellent musical work, endless variety of instruments, much much creativity and so perfect vocals (in performance and mixing)! I have to agree with Tony about the "Queen" .... somehow I feel a touch of "Bohemian Rhapsody" in this tune: the blending of classic with Rock (Prog-Rock) is undoubtedly a distinctive signature of such compositions. Impeccable music work: composition, arrangement, mix and production are top-shelf, fantastic collab Bill and Matt, you two really made a good work!!! :) My hope is that we will hear more of such creative, yet so good & professional produced tunes!!

Hi Bill and Matt, Well this is something else to say the least. Queen meets Alice in Wonderland. So much going on musically. Just reading all the instruments involved is something. No creative thoughts since Easter? May I disagree? Well Matt has never ceased to amaze me over the years and Bill this is quite a musical piece. love the lead guitar as well. Great collab.
