Mumbo Jumbo
There is a musical "vision" that's somewhere between the swingin' Kansas City horn lines, the New Orleans jazz and Oakland funk. Not as bluesy as blues. A funkier beat. Expanding the blues to match that vision is what "Mumbo Jumbo" is all about.
Grafting a blues sensibility onto a contemporary R&B foundation with commanding vocals and a power driven horn section ("The Resurrection Horns"), makes Mumbo Jumbo one of the best "older than you" blues groups in the country today, delivering a well balanced mix of originals and an occasional cover.
So turn up the volume and boogie a Fridays' worth of joy, a satisfying slab of contemporary R&B, with a side of bare bones blues, by one of the hardest working bands from the NW today. Eight musicians kickin' ass on the bandstand and a boisterous call to good times.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes we do.......but currently are in the studio doin the next CD.
