Some call him the next Pharrel Williams or Quincy Jones. But really hes just his own person. Matthew Bernard, a.k.a. MTech, has always been creative and in tune with various types of music. He started playing the piano by ear at age 10. He would listen to songs on the radio and sit at his 61 key Casio keyboard from Radio Shack until he learned the entire song. Eventually he started making his own instrumentals. At age 11, he made his first one. He had no studio equipment whatsoever. So to record his beats, he used his Voice Recorder/MP3 player to voice record each one. His keyboard only had 2 tracks for recording. But the finished instrumental would have 5 at the most. He would split the keyboard so that he could play two different instruments at one time. The keyboard didnt have a loop function, so he had to play his songs LIVE all the way through. Then when he played it back, he would grab his recorder & put the embed microphone near the speaker to record and save his work. That was six years ago. Now MTech produces for many different artists around LA and Florida. He also makes compositions for dancers and film. MTech is not limited to just one genre. Hes very open to learning different types of music. You wouldnt think hes capable of much because of his humility. He doesnt ask for much he doesnt want any fame, he just wants his music to live on when hes gone. Thats why he does what he does and he loves it.
