MR PJ
MR PJ. Representing Botswana & Africa @ large. Vibey & soulful. Amazing vocal power to soothe your soul...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Well, my first encounter with a commercial mic was in 1996 when I became lead singer for a local gospel outfit known as "The Saints". I started arranging songs and writing for the group and other upcoming artists for a while before focusing much on production. I was music co-ordinator when I led the group to second position at the very first Botswana Music Awards in 1998. I had a short stint with Sister Dee, another local muso for an eight track album where I was providing male backing and featured on some solo parts. I am currently working on a solo project, my debut which will soon be out for distribution. My music is a little soulful, a pinch of rnb and another touch of indigenous african gospel rhythm.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yeah, I play live but can also suit a lot many setups, though. I mean if the need so arises. Live Concerts, church, weddings, launches, parties and so on. I enjoy live performances.
