Figure 8 Figure 8
Laid back and mellow, the name Figure 8 is derived from the guitars that seem to chase each other in circles throughout the song.
Candle Light Candle Light
One of our newest songs, Candle Light is a short song based entirely around cliff-hangers.
Story Story
This song has a very original sound to it, which is immediately noticeable. Its got some bounce to it, and kicks it into high gear for an unforgettable outtro.
Man Inside Man Inside
One of our oldest songs has recently received an injection of electricity to add some much needed power to the mood of the song.
Something To Do With Something To Do With
Another demo of some of our newest material- this song when added together with the rest of the band explodes into waves of colors and images that we never knew we could even paint.
You're on a beach on a tropical island. There's no one around for miles. The sky is deep blue, almost as blue as the ocean water. You lean over to the stereo next to you and turn it on. Out comes our music, embracing you - leaving you positively relaxed under the warm sun. This is what Mourning Eve is all about: giving your musical senses a well-needed massage.Band/artist history
Mourning Eve was formed late in 2003 by Mike Stagliano, Eric Binder, and Chris Stevens. It is now just about 1 year later, and they are still here. Take that, Aerosmith!
In their early stages as a band, Mourning Eve's sound was, for the most part, very mellow. After adding keyboardist Steve Stagliano (Mike's identical twin), their once-mellow sound took a turn. The band's energetic personalities began to show through their music as they started to discover their own sound. What once was strictly acoustic rock has now branched out into a much broader category with much wider horizons. Electric guitars can now be frequently heard, piano parts are blazing, the drums make you want to get up and dance, and the vocals seem more inspired and meaningful than ever before.
Each one of the band members generally comes from a very different musical background and each have very different musical influences, but with just enough overlap to fuse together as a group. Using varying elements of Pop, Rock, Jazz, Funk, and even occasional dashes of Emo, Classical, and various Ethnic styles, Mourning Eve strives to keep your ears tingling, your feet stomping, and your hands clapping.
The band's live show is also something to be seen. Their unorthodox methods in live performances have set them apart from many other bands in the current scene. If you've seen the band live, you know that the lighting of large amounts of incense on stage just before the show is only the very tip of the iceberg.
Coming up on the band's one year anniversary, they can look back and honestly say that their sound has improved 100-fold from what it used to be. They all seem to be extremely happy with what they've accomplished in 1 year [dozens of shows, completion of 2 EP's (despite their own criticizms of the Cellar Skies EP), and lots of friends made along the way]. This is a band that you should definitely keep your ear on. To be completely honest, they are just getting warmed up.Have you performed in front of an audience? We love playing live. We've been playing mostly in Illinois (all over the state), we played a show in Wisconsin last year, and we are planning a mini-tour in Michigan in the spring of 2005.
