I wanted to figure out how to make beats and when it's cold and dark outside anything but sitting in front of the TV will do. It's been tough since there is no real set way to make beats. There is just the methods some people use and the methods other people use. Everything I've learned has been through experimentation and listening to beats I liked and trying analyze how they were composed. I'm still trying to get a good handle on EQ'ing, compression and stereo panning to get that clean mix sound. I started with a free Roland TR-909 simulator which was a major pain in the ass to load samples with. I've been using FL studio lately which I'm most comfortable with. Anyway, I'll just note that all of these beats are like rough sketches in a notebook and since I'm lazy they will probably never be finished. Let me know what you think and be as critical as you want to be.
