Band/artist history
he band was formed last March 2006. They are Carlos (vocals), Leeroi (bass guitar), Dennis (Lead Guitar) and Gwyn (drums). The name mothballs was really of nonsense at first time. It actually came from the place where Carlos usually spends his time. There he saw the most number of mothballs he had ever seen in his entire life. With regards to song writing, at first they covered songs with different genres (audioslave, paparoach, 311, RA etc). Uncertain of what they are doing, they started joining productions and battle of the bands. Productions gave them friends while battles gave them the urge to do something more of their own. With this motivation, the band started to create songs with fills of different genres that came from each member. The music they came up actually have no definite genre. And this came up a very big question that the members until now are not able to answer. The question is; kuya, ano pong genre niyo? that somehow lead them to answer another question that is; why mothballs? The reason they came up for the name (Mothballs) is that they wanted their music to smell like mothballs. Not to smell badly, but for their listeners to recognize the sound of mothballs. Also like mothballs smell, they wanted the mothballs sound to stick on the heart of every rakistang pinoy m/
