I've been playing guitar since June 2006. My first guitar was an Ibanez Gio JX40, pretty good guitar for the price (it was a starter pack, haha). Then in June 2007 I bought the Ibanez Xiphos and I've fallen in love. It has such great playability, and the pick ups can sound really intense, either in the bridge or neck position, very versatile. I'm also trying to teach myself piano. My main interest in life is music. It's basically the air I breathe and I wouldn't really wanna do anything else... blah blah blah.
Nope, never played live with the guitar. I played live when I used to play bass, but that was for a jazz/blues thing, and it was only one show. I don't think I have enough experience yet to play live with guitar. I need lots more practice :D
Actually I listen to a lot of genres of music. However, my 2 favorite genres would be metal and punk rock. In terms of metal, mostly death, black, and technical metal.
Bands: Children of Bodom, In Flames, Sinergy, Necrophagist, Black Flag, The Bruisers, Rancid, Flogging Molly (amazing lyrics), old Metallica, old System of a Down, some Cradle of Filth, old Dimmu Borgir, Illnath, and others.
Composers: Alexi Laiho, Jesper Stromblast, Yngwie Malmsteen, Chopin, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Paginni, Rachmininoff, Bach (of course) and a few others.
Guitarists:
Alexi Laiho
Paul Gilbert
Yngwie Malmsteen
Jesper Stromblast
Michael Angelo Batio
Sattriani is ok...and you know the rest. However, my favorite are the first 4 stated.
Jazz musicians: John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, and others.
I started off with the Ibanez Gio, and my first 2 recordings on here, Acoustic Medley and Blues in G, are done with that guitar, no effects, plugged straight into the comp. Knights of Cydonia was recorded with my Xiphos, mic and my crappy 10watt amp (I didn't have the POD then). But now that I have my PODXT that's all I use, along with the Xiphos of course. I also have a Yamaha 4string bass. I'm thinking of plugging it into the POD and trying out some bass recordings soon. Oh and the drums I use are programmed in guitar pro.
