Monstah Muthas
I have been remiss in updating this site. There is probably a few hundred gigabytes of music left to sort through for this site. It might be a little while before it gets updated again because I am busy with school and work. Winter should bring some new music. Sign up for the email list if you like what you hear so you can get more when more becomes available...
A really great song on this page, just so you all know, is "Where is the Light". It's very different from the other songs and a few very interesting people sing and do other things with their mouths on it. So take a look if you have a minute. Thanks for listening...
THIS is FREE Jazz, as in music that is purely improvisational. I have taken the time to extract some of the sweetest nugs ever to be recorded by the legendary Monstah Muthas (By the way, it makes great driving music, if you don't talk on your phone the entire time you're in the car). The Monstah Muthas was an experimental rotating band (supported by The FreeKeys) that played in Gville between 2002 and 2005. It comprised of musicians from various bands in the Gville scene at the time. You may have performed music on this site. If that pisses you off, I'm really sorry. Please let me know.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Yes, the band history. Definitely rotated. The bands whose members participated in this event are pretty numerous. Lets see, The FreeKeys, Times Fly, OOZE, Fluid Mosaic, Djaja Peak, Deans on Bass, Unkle Funkle, Swayback, The Elevator Company, Brickfoot Ninja Squad and many others.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We did. At the Shamrock, The Side Bar, Shabalah Farm, and at the amazing, ineffable SHACK (ie:padded cell). We would do it again if you wanted us to.
Your musical influences
Not a fair question.
What equipment do you use?
Lots. As heavy as possible if we're playing live.
Anything else?
I'm sure you can tell I make alot of jokes on this page. But take a listen, I'm not kidding.
