Outro From The Sea Outro From The Sea
This is an old instrumental from my now (thankfully) defunct band The Draft. Neil W plays some mean-ass slide guitar on it, and we immitate seaguls! go figure!
Still and Silent Tonight Still and Silent Tonight
"‘Still & Silent Tonight’ is a psychedelic, proto Beta Band backed by drums. The kind of acid-induced hippy vibes of early Gorky’s, minus the madcap inventiveness." - Not my words, the words of angryape.com!
16 mg of succinylcholine (instrumental) 16 mg of succinylcholine (instrumental)
a instumental very much still in some form of transition, but I like it's incompleteness, it's like a dog trying to catch it's own tale.

Monotype is not so much a band as merely one person masquerading as such, occasionly an assorted rabble of cohorts will aid and abet him in such thom foolery, but for the most part he is a lone rider leaving a trail of dust in his wake across the plains of this superhighway.
Musically the demos have been described as rustic, see dictionary defination for further info:-
rustic;
(adj)
1/ Of, relating to, or typical of country life or country people. See Synonyms at rural.
2/
a)Lacking refinement or elegance; coarse.
b)Charmingly simple or unsophisticated.
3/ Made of unfinished or roughly finished wood: rustic furniture.
4/ Having a rough or textured appearance; rusticated. Used of masonry.
The songs themselves are recorded on an eight track recorder once they have made the transition from my head.Band/artist history
I'm 25 years old and time is slipping through my ageing fingers. I have been recording my dittys since I was 17 in one form or another, and it has been a constant evolution since then.
I have watched all around me become successful in the meantime, nauseating I know.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have been known to make a furray into the manchester live circuit, but these sightings are rare. I was a member of The Draft which supported Death Cab For Cutie on their first outing to my fair city, but that is my only notoriety.
Your musical influences
Well, so many things inspire me musically or otherwise, I love the naieve rock and roll energy of Buffalo Springfield, the absurdity of Dylans venomous lyrics and the beautiful light to be found in darkness of the late great Elliott Smith's songwriting. What equipment do you use?
an assortment of guitars, and the Boss BR8 to record on.Contact

cheers James, it has been a while since I updated and while I probably should have let sleeping dogs lie, I awoke the canine and uploaded a couple of songs...!! I am attempting to record now but the process is arduous and fruitless....*sigh*...
and speaking of canines :), thanks woof99, I did indeed venture over and check out your stuff and like what I hear. the female who sings with you a couple of times has a cute voice...!! ;) I don't really play live much or at all really, but am looking to venture out there, so let us know of any manchester gigs and I'll at least come down and see you play and we can talk music and discuss my crippling shyness at playing live....
I like the new stuff you've put up mono.
all these trax have a certain folky vibe permeating thru' 'em and I like them. I have the first song on repeat at the mo'. Are you interested in doing a little gig with other acoustica northern artists. I'm from Blackburn and have a site here, I just think it'll be cool to hold some sort of showcasey event somewhere...we have venues over here so ahve listen to my stuff and if you like what you here...drop me an E-mail!
hey aaron, yeh I have Boss Br8 which is a cute little eight track combined with any guitars I can manage to thrift off friends because my own arn't worth the wood their carved out of, and two mics - an sm57 and a rode nt3.
but yeh, the eight track is great and all, but sometimes I yearn for the old days of tape, and the annoying hiss of my old tascam 4 track!!
anyway thanks...:)
