Monica Ashton Jazz Band
Thanksgiving '01 Thanksgiving '01
I wrote this for an Internet Broadcast around Thanksgiving '01, just after September 11th. It was a horrendous thing that did prompt me to move to California. The song starts with the shock of it, anger comes, then finally, acceptance.
Ending Credits Ending Credits
I wrote this for a student film I did back in the '90's. But it never sounded THIS good! Recorded at Skywalker Sound Dec. 2006
Fantasia in F Fantasia in F
My flute player, Brad Hubbard, came all the way from NY to do the Recording. We had done this song a few times back in NY in the Village. Nobody else has ever played it as well as Brad did, so I HAD to have him on the Recording!!
Toora2 Toora2
Wrote this for my Mom. She had a beautiful coloratura soprano voice. Used to sing the Irish Lullaby, Toora Toora Loora to us as children. She passed away in 2004. This is in honor of her. BTW, why Toora2? Toora1 wasn't as good.
Forty & Sporty Forty & Sporty
My 40th birthday cake candle inspired me to write this. Go figure!
Opus Fopus No. 1 Opus Fopus No. 1
Wrote this just after I completed a degree in piano performance. I was classicaly-trained, but obviously, showing signs of rebellion already.
Sleepy Air Traffic Control Sleepy Air Traffic Control
Rob Rostau, my illustrious bass player, wrote this song. It's a reggae song about air traffic control and time (!). One night in rehearsal, in passing I suggested that Patrick try singing this one...man, Patrick! You brought down the house!!!
