... various projects that I've been involved with in various capacities. I primarily play guitar, but have also played bass in bands. I play a bit of mandolin, and i recently got a synthesizer that I'm teaching myself how to play. I also record myself, the bands I'm in and bands of people I know when I get a chance.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
While I used to play live quite regularly, the last few years I have only done so a few times. Special moments?? Well, the first band I was in played at the Riviera. The band Pousto I play guitar in played a couple of times at the Double Door .... that's some name droping, but some of the most memorable shows that I have played have been in dives or non-traditonal venues (skate parks, parties ... you get the idea).
Your musical influences
well, since I will have music from diffferent sources it could be almost anything. One band I'm in plays reggae/ska/punk (Pousto), while the other band I'm in (Illinois Driver) plays indie rock. When I'm recording on my own I have done anything from rock to reggae to experimental noise. Last summer I helped to record my friends hardcore band.
What equipment do you use?
A handful of guitars, a GT8 guitar multieffects processor, Novation Xiosynth, Roland KC-550.
For recording I use a Korg D-1600 or for smaller projects a Mac G4 with Garage Band and Doggiebox so I can make my own beats.
Anything else?
I do a bit of mastering, but I'm really a novice at it.
