we are an italian power metal band with neoclassical influences. Ours favourite bands are y.j.Malmsteen's rising force, stratovarius, helloween...but some members of our bands like death metal, hard rock and progressive.Band/artist history
While drinking a glass of beer, Francesco and Guerrino had the idea to found a metal band to play with good musicians and heavy metal loversthey made it!
Mizar was formed in 1999 with Guerrino Mattioni (soloist classic guitar), Francesco Ceccamea (rhythmic guitar), Andrea Lippi (vocal), Miguel Calì (drums) and Emiliano Natali (bass).
After the fist period in which we played Gamma Ray, Stratovarius, Helloween and Iron Maiden's songs, Guerrino and Francesco started to write some songs, oriented to classic heavy-power metal.
Thanks to the firsts live exhibition in Viterbo, Vetralla and Marta (Italy), Mizar's popularity grew.
In 2001 we published "Accession", first Mizar's demo tape, in which we can find the best four songs: "Hope", "Dark sign", "Storm of changes" and "And the fate will be done". Keyboards where played by Marco Berni and then he became member of the band.
Some day before the recording day, Emiliano left the band, but luckily Francesco, in very few days, had been able to realize and play all bass parts. The 4 tracks received good reviews in magazines and a nice success among people.
In following months we tried to contact some new bass player, but we didnt find him, so we stopped playing for a long period. But we kept strong: after manifold quests, on June 2002, Graziano Mazzapicchio became the new bass player of the band. After that we were able to continue our work. But out of envy, someone begin to bring disgrace on us among people and trough some reviews and interviews on Net. We pretended not to notice and we carried on.
New songs were played in some gigs across Italy and so much people could know Mizar. Not very after the drummer, Miguel, left the band, being soon replaced by Federico Massimi.
So we worked on old songs and many new songs had been composed: the band was going to record the new demo with a very good line up.
We rolled up our sleeves and with the help of some friends of our, we built up a web site and promoted our music trough the WEB selling very much demos in Europe and South America. We sent it also to magazines and web-zines; we organized shows across Italy so we could make a name for ourselves: many people appreciate our music and many e-mailed us to have a copy of our demo. We tried to send it to some Italian metal labels but the Italian metal scene is too crowded and no label feels inclined to invest in little bands.
Now we keep on playing, because a lot of people love us and our music, they trust on us helping us to carry on. Last year we record a new demo Time Powder, 8 new song where we tried to melt all our influences.
This autumn Federico left the band, but and a new skins-masher, Daniele Michelacci, a very talented pounding drummer, became a member of Mizar.Have you performed in front of an audience?yes, we play live in some music pub and in some musical performance. We like it because we can let people know our music
Your musical influences
Everyone of us has his own influence and while were composing, we melt all our ideas. Personally I love Malmsteen, all 80 metal music, German heavy metal, and all heavy metal in general; Francesco likes Dokken, Crimson Glory, Virgin Steele; Andrea likes Rhapsody, Iron Maiden but also Italian pop-music; Graziano is more 70 oriented and Marco is very Progster, from Genesis to Dream Theater; our new drummer Daniele likes a more extreme music, all tresh band, most of all Pantera, and also Nevermore, Death but his idol is Dave Lombardo.

and sorry for our bad english!!!!!!!!Excellent, I really like your sound...the vocals are great, and the delay on them helps give the song depth. Technically speaking, your tremolo-picking and double-pedal bass drum are a little sloppy, but forgiveable.
