Formed 1990 in Stuttgart, Germany, MIRROR OF DECEPTION are one of the longest running and most prominent European Doom Metal bands. Initially, the band was inspired by the forefathers of the genre such as SABBATH, CANDLEMASS, ST. VITUS, TROUBLE etc., but over the years they have created their own niche, shaping their own unmistakable style. Channelling grass roots HEAVINESS through dark winter melancholy and despair, MIRROR OF DECEPTION write their own rules far away from clichés often (and falsely) associated with classic Doom Metal such as one dimensional tempos and recycled SABBATH lyrics.Band/artist history
Band histories are mostly pretty boring, so Ill make it short: formed in 1990 the band has recorded a couple of demos, the "Veil of Lead" MCD (1997), the "Mirrorsoil" album (2001), another MCD, "Conversion" (2003), the 2nd album, "Foregone" (2004) and the current, third album, "Shards" (2006).
An in-depth band history can be found on our website.Have you performed in front of an audience?We play live frequently. Mostly in Germany but we have also played in Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Ireland, UK and Finland in recent years.
Your musical influences
The roots are bands like Candlemass, Saint Vitus, Trouble, Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Count Raven and they are still present but we listen to a lot of other music as well. From folk to black metal.
