Mirdyn
Band/artist history
Mirdyn was founded in the end of 2005 under the name Confessions Of A Mastermind.
COAM practiced in the Houtmarkt, an old school. After that the Bunker, a practice space, where they didn't want us (making so much noise) But in 2006,there was a total new line-up, a new style,a new rehearsal room, and a new name: Mirdyn
With members Dennis (Vocals) Olivier (Guitar) Gea (Bass) and Martijn (Drums) We
have recorded some songs in 2006, the Mirdyn demo, it was an very crappy demo and recorded in one evening, but at least it was something.
We continued to play a few months with the four of us, in December 2006 we thought
we had found a Lead Guitarist in the person of Wilco but due to personal reasons he
quitted the band in February 2007. We found a replacement in the person of Imco.
Due to lack of time Dennis quits Mirdyn in May 2007, we practiced a while without a vocalist and invited friends to come and sing, until Selwyn approached us and rehearsed one day, he was the man for the job.
In July unfortunately Imco decided Mirdyn wasnt the band for him and he quits.
We decided to go on as an four-piece band. September was our first gig with Selwyn at Burgerweeshuis in Deventer and it was an huge success. Soon after that we recorded our first demo Redemption For The Weakest. With more time and the fact that we knew what we didnt want we recorded for 3 days in Noord-Brabant and it was released in November.
There came an time of rehearsing and writing new songs and playing a couple gigs, until another guitarist contacted us in November 2007 named Martijn Grooten. It clicked and he was part of the band, we played our first as an 5-piece at a Dark X-mass at de Gigant-Apeldoorn, it was an huge success.
Now with a stable line-up and a demo in our hands we think its worth it, theres no stopping us now.
Mirdyn plays a various mix of metal styles, though we think the most prominent styles are technical death and thrash metal.
