Minus One For Fun
Minus One For Fun are a punk rock trio from the small city of Perth. The band was originally a 4 piece band and under the name of Next To Nothing, it then changed to Play of the Day and then back to Next To Nothing. The changes wherent making the difference then the biggest change of all came in late 2004. After a year and a half a member left and now we are the dynamic punk trio Minus One For Fun. There is Tristan(guitar/vocals), Ben(bass,vocals), Luke(drums,vocals)
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The 3 piece that is formed now have been together since early 2003. There where troubles at the start with just trying to master 'DAMMIT' by blink 182. We ended up becoming reasonably good and we decided to do band lessons at Mega Music(great store, check it out) We then left early 2004 and things changed. Thats when the guitarist/singer (ross) was gone and the 3 piece began. Dont get us wrong ROSS your a legend and we still love ya heaps. Your clean channel ROCKS!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes we played a fair bit as a 4 piece band, maybe around 10 live shows all around the place. The Vault, C.C.C, lakeside basketball courts and the highlight was playing at the C.C.C battle of the bands and winning best written original.
What equipment do you use?
Bassist had a laney 15 watt amp but now has upgraded to a 200 watt HARTKE amp and he is still using his great quality bass YAMAHA. Drummer has a pearl export kit with zildgian ZXT cymbals. The guitarist did have a 10 watt samick but now has a Marshall 100DFX amp and a tom delonge squier guitar. But i am changing guitars soon because i recently just completey wrecked it. And i have just purchased a Les Paul Classic.
Anything else?
Well, we are really looking for another bassist that doesnt get tired, another drummer who actually has memory and stops playing different beats everytime we play a song and a guitarist who can actually sing and maybe not break his guitar when acting cool.
