Shalom Shazam, aka the Fantasy Dad, is a 23-year-old self-admitted hood that spits lyrics that are brutally honest like an open wound. Inspired by acts like Apathy, CopyWrite and Slug of Atmosphere, Shazam began emceeing at the age of 16 with a local crew called Chemically Imbalanced. Though he claims he is most known for having sex with the Olsen Twins before they were famous,, his career path took a change for the better when he met Tizzy Hustles and DJ Tone Spliff through collaborations with Chemically Imbalanced.
The three had all gone to high school together, but it wasnt until after graduation that their mutual love of hip hop brought them together. Tizzy Hustles, aka Mommys Little Timebomb, is a slick rhyming motherfucker with a machine-gun flow comparable to Punisher and AZ. The only aspect of life Tizzy Hustles embraces with as much passion as making music is making dollars, and he excels at both.
It was at a local colleges radio show battle that Tizzy Hustles met Rezenebe Nhoj, hailing from Brooklyn and studying International Business at Utica College.
Politically-minded and thoughtful without sounding pompous, Rezenebe has been compared to rappers such as Mos Def and Common both in terms of message and delivery.
With Tone-Spliff producing the music, writing the beats and supplying the cuts, these emcees have embarked on a promising journey that will no doubt take them to the pinnacle of success in the world of hip hop. In a short time, they have already been noticed by television producers who featured their tracks on he show MOVA TV. Their early recordings and home demos even caught the ear of radio DJs as far away as California. Before even signing to a record label or recording a full-length album, Mind Write Music has created a buzz that threatens to grow into a deafening ruckus.
Currently putting the finishing touches on their first studio album, recorded in the world-renowned J.A. Castle studios, Mind Write looks forward to an April release date for their as-of-yet untitled debut album.
As usual, the beats are courtesy of DJ Tone Spliff whose style has been compared to the legendary sound of DJ Premiere from GangStarr. The bulk of the vocals are from the minds of Tizzy Hustles, Shalom Shazam and Rezenebe Nhoj, but a slew of well-known guest stars also appear to lend a hand and support the effort.
