Millions aka Tha Future
Hey World! This is Millions aka Tha Future, representing me first and foremost, but I hold it down in the 617, 413 and 202! I'm an MC/producer with a wide range of influences, some outside of rap. I been at this since I was about 16 and I'm grinding right now, as I finish up college and try to make this my life career. Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started rapping around 16, and producing at 18. When I was 11, Harlem World had came out and my aunt took me to buy it. I used to play that joint all day, and that's when I first started to rap. Me and my little sister were all about it in the shiny suit era, we even had a little group called PNC. However, it wouldn't be until I moved to Michigan in 2001, that I would start my first book of rhymes.
Reflection Eternal's (Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek) "The Blast" would be a definitive turning point for me as a MC. It was early in the morning, right before I went to school, and the video came on MTV. Talib was such a sharp lyricist and Hi-Tek's beat was knockin me upside the head something serious! I bought the album (Train of Thought) as soon as it came out, and it didn't leave my rotation for a year or two. I had never heard such pure hip-hop...I was strung out on that shit. That was truly a huge inspiration to me as an artist and I aspired to make my own classic album one day.
Many years later...I'm composing that classic album one cut at a time. I conside myself a handsomely diverse artist, so expect a wide variety of styles and issues addressed. I've always been a stand up, standout type dude...I can relate to Biz Markie and ODB, as well as Nas and Ludacris. It's the same story for production; club, street, conceptual...I do it all, thats why I'm Millions!
