Millennium Groove strives to write and record music that is catchy, memorable, burrows into your brain and makes you twitch. MiG hopes that people can relate to the music, and wouldn't mind making the top 40 and making loads of dough. This might be hard because MiG writes all their own material and plays all their own instruments, sings their own songs and doesn't have the whiny, constipated voice most top 40 bands have now.
Sorry if that sounds a little jaded, but the music playing on most radio stations makes me want to hurl...Band/artist history
Millennium Groove started as a solo project around 1993 called MaJoR. The style then was alt-rock with an emphasis on memorable riffs, catchy melodies and guitar solos, and meaningful lyrics. The project lived, died, and was resurrected several times over the next several years as the talent of the artist was questioned and the amount of time focused on the project changed. The project was revived in 2002 with a new name, Millennium Groove, picked to reflect the new time and renewed focus of the project: to produce good music that appeals to the mainstream and sticks in the ears and brain. Recently, the project has gained momentum with the evolution of new skills and better songwriting, and is emerging from the plagues of self-doubt to hopefully achieve its true potential.Have you performed in front of an audience?Not yet. MiG has very much been a purely studio band up to this point.
Your musical influences
MG's influences range the spectrum of popular music from the 60s to the 90s. Most of 2k has been pretty sad for influences. Favorite bands include Van Halen, Steely Dan, Gerry Rafferty, Garbage, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, the Eagles, Dire Straights, Vinyl Kings, and too many others to name. There's something to learn from so many good bands. MG's music doesn't sound like any of these...but you may hear their influences here and there.Anything else?
