Milkweed
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Milkweed was formed in late 1999 in the suburbs of Cincinnati. Members Rob Rieman, Dave Shives, Joe Sparto, and Eric Walterman come from varied musical backgrounds and are able to bring them all together in this band. After a few years of experimentation and growth, the band has established its own unique sound which could be described as heavy groove metal with hip-hop roots. Some fans have called it Gangsta-Core. Milkweed has toured the Midwest and traveled from Syracuse all the way to Tampa. They have played with major acts including Mushroom Head (Universal), 40 Grit (Metal Blade), Disarray (Eclipse), Spine (Revo), Shovel Barn (Digital Dimension), Vampire Moose (Rotten Records), Stemm, and many others. Through touring, the internet, and word of mouth, Milkweed has gathered a large following from all over the US and overseas. In 2005, Milkweed will begin touring again to promote the newly released CD called Body Floss.
