Mike Dupuis
I don't have a band right now, just a little circle of friends. At this point it is impractical to form a band to play live because we are all family men. But in the not too distant future that will change and we will get back to what we truly love to do - play live. In the mean time we'll just keep working with our recording projects when we can. Collectively, my music doesn't fit into one genre, Rock is where I put it, because that is where my roots are. Hope you enjoy what you hear.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not now, but hope to in the not too distant future.
Your musical influences
It started with The Beatles, moved on to Mowtown, then to guys like CSN&Y, Doobie Brothers, Edgar Winter, Louisiana's Leroux, Kansas, Boston, and many country artists. Also enjoy Earth, Wind, and Fire , on into some Funk and light jazz influences. But whatever it is, the vocals have to be good and the studio cuts should be fat and pretty!
What equipment do you use?
Nothin' serious - I like to keep it simple. Being a drummer I use Pearl Drums. My recording gear is based on a Tascam 788 Digital Portable Studio and a few accessories. Some cheap guitars and as much imagination as I can figure to use with my limited songwriting and guitar playing ability (or disability).
Anything else?
I like doing things the old way and keeping it simple. The important thing is to make the best of what you have. Get the vocals right, get the best sound you can from your instument(s), and just enjoy creating and sharing it with others. Live clean and put a smile on!
