Mike Bayker

I am a Christian who has been active in music for over 20 years, most of that time playing secular rock music in bars and clubs. About 5 years ago I rededicated my life to Christ and left the bars and clubs behind. I became active in my local church, singing praise and worship music and playing to acccompany the congregation. When I played the club scene, I had written several original songs, and had acquired a small home studio, so it was only natural to begin to write Contemporary Christian music, and to want to share it. This is what brought me to this place. It is my hope that you will listen, enjoy, and download my music, and that the Lord can use it to bless your life. Please stop by and have a listen.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I come from a family of musicians, and as a child growing up, music was all around me. My father and both of my brothers played guitar, and I remember an Aunt who played piano. All of us sang, and some of my earliest memories revolve around music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
As far as my own original compositions, I am mostly an internet musician. I do sometimes play live in churches and at gospel singings. I enjoy many different types and styles of music, and there is a time and place for all of them.
Your musical influences
David Gilmore,Eric Clapton,Jimmy Hendrix,Lynyrd Skynyrd,Molly Hatchet, and many others, though I don't sound like any of them as far as I can tell. Also, writing Contemporary Christian music has changed my style considerably. The focus is different.
What equipment do you use?
Martin, Epiphone Masterbilt and Washburn acoustics, electric guitars of my own build, Marshall amps,Digitech and ART processing, Peavey and Carvin boards,QSC power amps, Peavey and Crate speakers, Cakewalk and PG Music software, Shure,AKG, MXL and Oktava microphones.
