Miguel Catalão is a Wind and Keyboard performer as long as a Singer and composer. He is currently working with other musicians to release it's first solo work in Portugal.
Band/artist history
Miguel Catalão gets its first touch with music through a little wind "melodica" at the age of 4. At 7 years he controlles the instrument with hability. A year later enters to a music school learnig tuba and music reading. At ten he gives up the tuba and starts playing the recorder in the beginning of his secondary studies. At this time he also enters a piano school where he learns piano, organ and musical theory. He stays in this school till the age of 16 when he has to give up the music school due to familly problems. Though he keeps playing the recorder and piano at home. At 18 he graduates from high school and enters the Engineering College ISEL where he starts playing the recorder in the college student traditional group (College Tuna). Then he meets José Barros, who invites him to play as professional for his traditional portuguese music group, Navegante. He also starts at this time playing the TinWisthle and bagpipe... At this time he enters the music conservatorium D. Dinis (Loures - Portugal), where he starts playing the Flute and ends the basic course of piano. He has to give up his studies (music and College) due to economical issues, and starts working in IT. Despite this difficulties he keeps playing in Navegante and making some music of his own... Four years ago he restarted college and he is planning to restart also the piano and recorder studies at the conservatory. Meanwhile, after leaving Navegante there is the time to start his solo project.
