Hello, thanks for visiting Midnight Blue's web page. Midnight Blue is an intense blues power trio that incorporates elements of rock, funk and jazz into thier dynamic take on modern electric blues.
Band/artist history
Joe Edwards is an extremely talented bassist. He began his career playing rock in the late '60s and early '70s. His interests switched to fushion in the late '70s and in the '80s and '90s he was most often doing studio work. Joe has performed with such notable musicians as; Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, George Thorogood and Ted Nugent.
Eric Henry is a 25 year old from Xenia, Ohio, who recieved his first guitar at age 14. By 16 he had already hit the Dayton blues scene and was quickly accepted by the local musicians. Eric is now considered a veteran among his peers. He has graced the stage with locally based national acts such as; Noah and the Stratocats, the Eric Jerardi Band and international blues legend Piney Brown.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We perform in the Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia area.
Your musical influences
Our musical influences include Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Meters, Ronnie Earl, Albert King, Albert Collins, B.B. King, Tower of Power, T-Bone Walker, Jimi Hendrix, but the list could go on forever.
What equipment do you use?
Eric uses various Fender strats, vintage style, through a '66 Fender Super Reverb and '71 Fender Pro Reverb with a Tube Sceamer, Vox Wah, vintage Maestro Fuzz, Rotovibe and Digitech Echo/Delay pedal. Joe uses vintage style J and P basses through David Eden, SWR and Carvin gear. Braden uses whatever is at hand, he's just that good.
Anything else?
We play a variety of blues styles and are respectful to each; Texas, Memphis, Chicago, West Coast, funky stuff and we like to get a little crazy like Hendrix from time to time. So if you are a blues fan you will love our show and if you know one, spread the good word. Thanks.

10 cent boots .... ohh yeahhh!!!.......
"Yonder's wall" is execptional. Very good and well done real blues. I'm really digin this. keep up the good work. let me know when you have some new stuff too. Thanx, Ted
Eric,
not many players can play as smooth as you do without a refrigerator full of gear to backup all the mistakes. Your playing on the Hendrix tune ( Hey Joe ) sounds like a actual studio outtake of Jimi improvising in the moment. Plus you have a great rhythm section to back you...
The vocals were so cool & laid back just like Jimi.....
I would love to hear you & the band belt out some CREAM tunes.
I will have to stop in at the Blues Jam Sunday to check it out.
You guy's sound GREAT!!!!
this stuff is soo good.
thanks for sharing.
