Michael King Ross is a singer/songwriter whose musical heroes are people like Bob Dylan, John Prine, Tom Waits, Greg Brown, Lucinda Williams, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Earl Keen, Todd Snider, The Rolling Stones, Sonny Boy Williamson, Ramblin' Doug Hamblin, Steve Goodman, Big Bill Broonzy... people like that. Not that he necessarily like any of them, but he sorta fits somewhere into that genre.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Born in a log cabin. Moved to Gallup, New Mexico where I learned a lot of cowboy songs and Indian songs. The rest is history.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Now and then, in the Twin Cities area. I love playing for an audience.

Singer/songwiters - Dylan, Prine, Waits, Greg Brown, Lucinda Williams, Springsteen, Robert Earl Keen, Todd Snider. Contemporary folk, I guess you could say. Mostly guitar - acoustic & some electric. Mature themes, not likely to appear on American Idol.
What equipment do you use?
Mostly guitars - acoustic and electric. Some mandolin. Bass & drums & organ & piano and the occasional synthesizer sound. Oh - and those little egg-shaped shaker things, sometimes...
