Michael Fix
Michael Fix has been evolving as one of Australian music's leading acoustic guitarists for the past decade or more. That's partly due to his remarkable skills as a guitarist, but mostly it's because of his unique music - a passionate, emotional, evocative outpouring that captivates listeners.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Michael's repertoire includes Jazz and Blues, Celtic and Australian Folk, Country, Classical and his own distinctive compositions, many of which have received TV and radio exposure, as well as various major awards.
Michael's unique style - distinctively Australian and highly original in its presentation - marks him as a performer not to be missed.
After nearly 30 years of involvement in the music industry, Ive come to realize that music is life - the ups and downs that life dishes up are reflected in the music I write. But the journey wouldnt be nearly as much fun without your interest and support. The greatest joy comes from connecting with you. Thank you for sharing the journey.

Your musical influences
Chet Atkins, Mark Knopfler, Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel, Django, I love anything with melody & groove.
What equipment do you use?
I use mainly Australian made Maton guitars. The guitar in the photo is a Maton Michael Fix Custom, spruce top, maple back & sides, ebony fingerboard; I love it!
I also use instruments by Brisbane luthier Michael Palm. I dabble in bass, mandolin and banjo. I record to Protools 002 on mac
