Michael Fix has been evolving as one of Australian music's leading acoustic guitarists for the past decade or more. That's partly due to his remarkable skills as a guitarist, but mostly it's because of his unique music - a passionate, emotional, evocative outpouring that captivates listeners.
Band/artist history
Michael's repertoire includes Jazz and Blues, Celtic and Australian Folk, Country, Classical and his own distinctive compositions, many of which have received TV and radio exposure, as well as various major awards.
Michael's unique style - distinctively Australian and highly original in its presentation - marks him as a performer not to be missed.
After nearly 30 years of involvement in the music industry, Ive come to realize that music is life - the ups and downs that life dishes up are reflected in the music I write. But the journey wouldnt be nearly as much fun without your interest and support. The greatest joy comes from connecting with you. Thank you for sharing the journey.

Concerts & workshops at music festivals across Australia - folk, country, jazz & blues, and of course, guitar festivals. 2004 saw the first of my European trips, playing festivals and workshops in Italy and Germany.
Your musical influences
Chet Atkins, Mark Knopfler, Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel, Django, I love anything with melody & groove.
What equipment do you use?
I use mainly Australian made Maton guitars. The guitar in the photo is a Maton Michael Fix Custom, spruce top, maple back & sides, ebony fingerboard; I love it!
I also use instruments by Brisbane luthier Michael Palm. I dabble in bass, mandolin and banjo. I record to Protools 002 on mac

Micheal - I recently discovered your music - you are extremely talented! I am looking for a song I heard on the Soundtrack for the new-ish movie "The Lookout". It is the ending song - the first one to play while they are rolling the credits...credits list it as "Rock the Noel". It is fabulous. Where can I listen to or buy that song? Thanks - Helene Wood
I saw you at allans music in Kew on 23 august 2007 , my dad dragged me along. That was a really good idea.I loved your music ,neither dad or I had heard you before.I bought and you signed an album for me(web of dreams )I was the kid with the funny hair cut and the big scar.I made a mistake when I picked out web of dreams,I suppose I should have read the jacket, being a young male I should have picked something with a bit more edge ,which one do you recommend.I love my guitar, and who teaches finger style near the mornington peninsula.
Hi Michael, You're so good. Love your work. Wonderful X 10000000! times
Michael,
How about Tico Tico for the audio samples page? Heard you play a mean version of it and having it playing on the headphones will inspire me to work a lot faster which will then lead to a better share price for the company.
