Michael Baines
I've been playing guitar since I was a teenager and magically started writing after I became sober in 1988. Since then I've penned a few dozen originals and they still keep coming. It's been one of the biggest challenges of my life to own my music and listing it here is a good step in that direction. So far I've been in a recording studio once and was able to do 13 songs in 2 hours, a 1st draft and the origin of these files. They are far from finished but I need to keep going so I don't freeze up. So please enjoy what I have and we'll see what the future brings. Thanks!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
See intro for now.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes! Mostly open mics which are plentiful where I live. I've hosted them and been featured at a few. It's where I get to experience the effects of being vulnerable and reap the rewards of connecting with others.
Your musical influences
I'ts not uncommon for people to think Neil Young when they here me and lo and behold that's who's music I 1st learned on in the 70's. Also John Prine, Richard Shindell, Dave Mallett and the material on The Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands "Will the Circle Be Unbroken".
What equipment do you use?
My main axe is a 1989 Takamine EF-325SRC
