Merlin
Merlin can only be described as a young energetic band who play creative and explosive rock n roll for the masses. With a mixture of only the best ingrediences in alternative music, they play a self-declared style called independent somekindofcore.
Merlin, as you know it, was formed in 1998 by four close friends with a mission. They wasted no time and the following year they recorded their first demo, Joshua, which by word of mouth shifted a few hundred copies - and provided some free studio time with Curious records. This would be the foundation for 2000s Everydays Indifferent, the fast-paced first full-length that had one foot in punk music.
Since then Merlin have been perfecting songs, playing for fans and using the opportunities that Everydays Indifferent provided. They have now realeased a new album called The Wahoo Moment available from www.merlincore.com.Band/artist history
In 2002, Norwegian rockers Merlin finally took the dive into the rock scene with debut album "The Wahoo Moment." This album gathers ten out the most dynamic and explosive Merlin songs recorded, a creative and melodic sound that Merlin have flagged as their own for many years. The album was completely self-founded and released on the bands own label. A performance in front of 3000 people at last years Norwegian Wood festival, and winning a national band competition where 400 bands participated, helped Merlin reach a broader audience and made for a great start to a year that would bring even better experiences.
Merlin was started in 1998 by four close friends with a mission; Martin, Shahryar, Mads and Carl wasted no time and soon recorded a 6-track demo called "Joshua". It took exactly one gig and two weeks before Merlin was offered a record deal with the local company Curious Tapes, with whom later Merlin recorded "Everydays Indifferent", Merlin's first fast-paced full length, which had one foot in punk. But Merlin and Curious Tapes parted ways before the album was released, and Merlin sold "Everydays Indifferent" at gigs instead, and shifted a few hundred copies.
After constant work and sound refining, Merlin went into studio in 2002 to record "Smashbox", which was to become the first song on "The Wahoo Moment." This song raised so much interest that the band was forced into studio to record the rest, and the result you can hear all over Norway right now. 2003 will hopefully bring the album into many homes, and Merlin to a venue near you!Admin
