Everyone loves great music. It seems that as the chapters of life are written, each page is marked by a song. Music stirs parts of the soul that are otherwise unreachable. Music causes change. Music inspires generations. Music sparks revolutions.
mercyRISING makes great music.
What began as a group of guys who pulled together as a last minute worship-replacement for a youth rally has become a group dedicated to writing great songs. They are devoted to delivering the message that God is life, and that message is openly conveyed in their music. Their music carries a beat and a message that spans generations.
For four guys from completely different musical backgrounds to have such a natural chemistry might seem odd. But it's a shared passion for honoring God through great music that is the deeper reason for what they do.
mercyRISING calls Ohio home, but they find themselves traveling outside the Buckeye state to share their music with people of all ages and from all backgrounds. Their style is catchy and their energy onstage is contagious.
"We only want to express to people through our music that God is our reason for being, for living, and for what we do," says vocalist Jimmy McLoud. "There is no other, greater reason for anything."
They believe that "real life" should be considered and explored openly and honestly in their music. Songs like "Here Lies Love" and "Waiting for the Sky to Fall" are a testament to their concern for "the least of these." Other tracks like "Magnified" and "Consume Me" simply express their heartfelt gratitude for who God is.
Their live performance is full of energy and has been described as "an experience of being led from the seat you sit down in to the throne room of God. You can't help but sing along."
There's no way to put into words what happens when people connect with God through music. Through a simple song, the hearts and minds of generations can be transformed. It was with an understanding of that power that mercyRISING began their mission to lead God's people to His feet in worship.
If you've ever experienced a moment in worship so deep that you walked away feeling like your world had been turned upside down, then you can relate firsthand to the life-change that occurs when we open ourselves to hearing God's voice speak to us as we lift him up. This is not something we take lightly.
We've all seen worship leaders who don't understand what it means to worship. We've seen leaders who are more focused on drawing attention to themselves than they are to pointing the focus straight toward Heaven. We've all experienced worship that is empty and hollow, with no meaning. We've all walked away from a time of worship and felt no differently than we did walking in. The walls that we sometimes build around our hearts over time are strong, and shallow worship is no match for the hardness of our hearts.
It's our prayer that, when you worship with us, you never leave the same. By none of our own doing, our goal is to be the instrument that enables you to connect to God in a deeper way than ever before. Our sole motivation for doing what we do is to help you see God in a brand new way.
We believe that we are ministers first, musicians second, and God-followers always.
Our mission is simple: to worship our Father. It's our hope and prayer that you'll embrace a new worship movement with us, and unite and empower our generation to show God's love to the world as we praise Him together.
