Mental Horror
A novice bedroom producer living in the middle of nowhere. I enjoy learning new techniques and expirimenting with different styles of electronic music. I tend to stick to ambient, drum and bass, and hip hop.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been producing as a hobby for over 3 years off and on. Started getting more serious over the past year and took the time to learn key concepts to producing good music. I have no formal musical training. My dad used to produce synth pop in the 80s and early 90s as a hobby. That's probably where I got it from.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not at this point.
Your musical influences
My father and his old music. (specially pink floyd and 80s synth pop) Lot's of ambient, drum and bass, trance and early 90s dance music. Bands like Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Infected Mushroom and The Orb have all had major influences along with a slew of other bands.
What equipment do you use?
My computer, my 1200s, a cheap headset microphone, political samples, movie samples, voice clips, Fruity Loops Studio 4.0 with a host of plugins, Sound Forge, Recycle, and a shitload of breaks.
Anything else?
I love music. My only long term goal in life is for people to hear my music and say, "Hey that's pretty good."
