Listen and Silent both use the same letters - think about it.
I was born in Eastport, Maine. The son of a truck driver. Dad moved us all down to Boston when I was about ten years old. A neighbor was in a band that played all Ventures and Shadows tunes. I got hooked on learning them on my old Kay guitar. At some point I got good enough to play in bands.
At first I thought I was going to be a big star. Then we played at a "Battle of the Bands" in about 1965 and came in third place. A few years later I joined the band that had came in first place. Before I knew it we had gigs all over the place and back then you'd get booked at a hotel lounge for 2 weeks which was 14 nights in a row with a weekend matinee sometimes. It was a great experience being on the road but I saw the not-so-great side of it as well. Some things most of you would not believe!
When the 1980's came I settled down in the greater Boston area, got married and only played in local bands with no more long road trips. It was about 1995 when I met a guy with a Revox and TEAC reel-to-reel recorders. We got into recording and trying different sound on sound ideas. Somewhere along the line I learned how to play keyboards and then started making backing tracks to play along and practice with. Technology has advanced so much now that I think almost every musician records in some way or another. My music pages are full of many songs that I've recorded. Take a listen and see if there's anything you like :)
