About Me
-I am Tillman Franks Son, Ben, (Tillman Jr) and Proud of it I am a Songwriter/Arranger and Composer. I sing and play original Country Music with a Cajun flair and do classics as well A little about my Father Tillman Franks Tillman B. Franks (born September 29, 1920, Stamps, Arkansas -passed away October 26, 2006) was an American bassist, and Songwriter who was also the manager for a number of country music artists, including Johnny Horton, David Houston, Webb Pierce, Claude King and the Carlisles. On 3 April 1948, Franks made history when he played bass with the Bailes Brothers on the first night of the Louisiana Hayride Radio Broadcast. He later booked artists as head of the Louisiana Hayride Artist Bureau and was instrumental in getting Elvis to the show where he had his start. He also managed several acts, including Pierce, Claude King, Slim Whitman, David Houston, the Carlisles, Jimmy C. Newman and Johnny Horton-there is so much more. As for myself-- I HAVE BEEN AROUND COUNTRY MUSIC SINCE I WAS BORN.

I HAVE BEEN AROUND COUNTRY MUSIC SINCE I WAS BORN. MY FATHER WAS TILLMAN FRANKS, WHO MANAGED MANY BIG STARS INCLUDING JOHNNY HORTON AND DAVID HOUSTON. JOHNNY AND DAVID BOTH WERE BIG INFLUENCES IN MY LIFE. EVEN THOUGH I WAS ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD WHEN JOHNNY DIED, I HAVE ALWAYS FELT CLOSE TO HIM. HIS MUSIC WAS CLASSIC AND HAS TRULY STOOD THE TEST OF TIME.

I STARTED PLAYING THE GUITAR AND SINGING SERIOUSLY AROUND 20. I REGRET I DIDN’T START EARLIER. SOMETIMES I THINK DADDY WAS SCARED FOR ME TO GET INTO THE BUSINESS. HE HAD MANY TRYING TIMES AND IT WASN’T ALWAYS EASY (ESPECIALLY WHEN HE WAS ...

Hi Tillman Franks Jr. I was surprised to see your name. I remember your Dad being with Johnny Horton in the accident in 1960 in Milano, Texas. I drove through there shortly after it happened. In fact, A friend of mine who worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Milano, Texas was talking to me on the Santa fe phone line when he said he had just heard a loud crash and that was it! I have the TROUBADOUR TUNES website and go by the name of Frank Zaruba fromTemple, Texas. Best of luck. I'm still pushing my songs. Frank......TROUBADOUR TUNES

Mr Tillman, i thank you so much for request, i feel glad to be a new friend of you. It's very honorific coming from such a team. Checking your page, i saw the song i casted was a big hit : SAVE A COUNTRY SONG onto CDBB's station dedicated to Country rock & folks, ain't some eclectic feats. Greetings from French West Coast :) JH L.
