"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..."   I just posted a new song called "The Christmas Song" on my profile page. Many people know this now classic ballad was originaly recorded by Nat King Cole. What you may not know is the story behind how it was written. The song was written by Mel Torme, and Bob Wells way back in 1945, here is an account by Mel Torme as to how this song came to be....

"One excessively hot afternoon, I drove out to Bob's house [Robert Wells] in Toluca Lake for a work session. The San Fernando Valley, always at least ten degrees warmer than the rest of the town, blistered in the July sun.... I opened the front ...
The Night that Hope Changed the World.   The night of the election I was home in my studio working, and watching the election results filter in. I thought "I have about a half hour before Obama's victory speech"..."I want to be in the middle of this when it happens". I jumped into my shoes like a fireman on his way to the pole, and out the door I sped. It took me about 15 minutes to get downtown. Lo and behold... the angels sang..and a parking space opened as I drove in to downtown ...

Hello David, Claes here. Hope everything is well with you. I have been rather invisible here the last year, had a slow year, musically. But I found some new very nice pieces on your side; Christmas Song for instance (a litte late I know, but the song is good!) I too published at least one new song recently - classic guitar with some arrangements as usual... We'll see what happens then. Greetings from Claes in a VERY wintry Sweden!
Hi David! Greetings from the UK! Thanks for adding me as a friend. I've been checking out some of your tracks today and I definitely be back for some more! Best wishes. Rodz.
