I´m a self-taught (senior) guitar player, I enjoy EVERY style of music. I compose, perform, record my own music in my little Home Studio. With "a little help from my friends" from different guitar forums/music sites, I also contribute with some guitar solo over their Backing Tracks (everytime amazing and a real challenge too! ). Thanks to all those great musicians that allowed me to join their works, they were:
Massimo Pieretti, Renee Anderson, Klaatu (CT), Martin Phillips, Al Massey, Mike Bennett , Falken, Dr. Bob´s JBBQ, Rene Saucier, Michael Laycock, Scott Lerner, David Wallimann (guitarplayback.com), Irene (MelancholySoulGirl), Kathy Reynolds, Martin Rudkowski, Miles Smiles, B. Robillard, S.Stolle, , eDHa, Rainer Gaffrey, Mats Nermark, B. Fulbright, Uwe B, TNuT, Gitmanx, Refin, Bigsbytrack, ..........!
Please take a minute and drop by on my Music Page: do not miss to check out my blog and music stations!!wink ;)

Hi Spin – Thanks for finding an example to point to regarding the double bass in Cuban jazz. The video performance was excellent.
So as I was writing this message “Fallin in Love Rumba” was playing. Your guitar work is supreme on this my friend. Wonderful to hear this one again.

Have a great upcoming week.

Hi Spin,
I just enjoyed your tip of the Jorge Luis Pacheto's Quartet. It's really a kind of party when they start to play. And what is happening around 3:47 is just unbelievable. That piano solo. Going so fast. He is really a musical genius.

At first sight I immediately had to think of Jacob Collier, but only because of the way he is looking. But they both have got that kind of nervous way of playing, but the styles are completely different.

Right now YouTube is just continuing, but this is nice too:

Yeah, interesting. Again a name! I really like that Cuban style, it's bringing a happy feel, a party.

Thanks, inspector!
Cheers to the music,

Nice hint, "El Manisero" (live), with double bass. I don't know why I thought double bass is impossible in Cuban Jazz. For me this proves it is possible.

You always see on Marialy's face she has got so much fun in playing, always smiling.

Thanks a lot.
Morning Spin,
Right now I'm enjoying "Ay! Mama Inés" of Marialy Pacheco & Rhana Krija. Very nice performance with indeed a strong Cuban atmosphere in it. Think that style is just everywhere in her way of playing.

Anyway, I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for the link.
Cheers to the music!

Hi Spin,
After your message I surely remark that the sound quality is not so very well, but I didn't notice, because that's more often in live performances. And yes, listening closer, I remark that the two of them don't play very precise. Heard the oops you were talking about. The second was a wrong chord.

Like often I first heard another track, "El Bola", a duet with Omar Sosa on her album "Duets", and then I started to look for live performances.
There is something special in her way of playing for me.

She is from Cuba, indeed, and lives in Germany, think already for a long time.

I will listen to your link this weekend, thanks. Think you are right, that there are better things to be found of her.

Have a great weekend, my friend,
