I am 70 years old and have been active in politics for about 40 years. In various roles in my life, I have been a minister, an actor and singer, a writer and concert promoter, a real estate consultant, director of non-profit organizations and an indefatigable political activist. My hobbies have always centered on art and community theater groups.

I was in San Francisco in 1965 during the summer of love and was involved in the Free Clinic movement. I was the Texas state project director for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) in 1972-3.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s, I was in California as executive director of United Neighbors in Action (a nursing home reform non-profit) and worked for the Little Hoover Commission (a government watchdog and reform group housed in Lt Gov Leo McCarthy’s office).

In 1985, I returned to Dallas, Texas as executive director of the Texas Hairdressers Association

I was an elected delegate from Austin, Texas to the 1992 Democratic National Convention.

I have worked actively in all phases of political consulting for candidates ranging from city council, governor, US House and Senate to president of the United States. I have been a field organizer for political campaigns and for the SEIU.

I retired from Research & Policy Development at the Texas State Comptroller’s office in July 2005 and moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico (where I had previously lived off and on since 1976.)
