Time Horizon Signs With US Progressive Label Melodic Revolution Recor

Melodic Revolution Records is proud to announce that they have just struck a multi-album deal with West Cost Christian Prog Band Time Horizon.

Time Horizon gained international attention with their debut release “Living Water” (2011) and caught the attention of Nick Katona at Melodic Revolution Records

Time Horizon has spent the last four years writing and recording “Transitions” their follow up to the highly praised debut album by both critics and fans alike. The band had also gone thru some personal changes during the writing and recording process thus the meaning behind the name of the new album.

Time Horizon released their debut album “Living Water” via their own label Angelic Noise and dedicating the first run of 1000 CDs to help people in third world countries by raising funds for clean water. One of the bands founders Keyboardists Ralph Otteson chose to partner with Living Water International, hence the name of the first album. Time Horizon continues to be committed to helping the thirsty around the world.

The band knew they were capable of more and desired to raise the bar on the new album so they brought in Billy Sherwood (Yes, Circa) to help in production and mixing the songs. Sherwood wanted to see the production all the way through the mastering phase, so he brought it to Grammy nominated mastering engineer, Maor Appelbaum. Ralph also brought in some very special friends to guest on the new album, Tony Kay (Yes, Circa) Lang Bliss (Michael W. Smith, Rick Cua) David Wallimann (Glass Hammer, Dweezil Zappa) Jake Livgren (Proto-Kaw) as well as Jeff Garner, Michael Mullen, Dan Eidem and Gary Gehman.

We are Proud to Announce the Signing of Andres Guazzelli
The first single “Wish You Could Hear” is released today and features some notable names from Melodic Revolution Records

Andres Guazzelli (born December 20, 1984) is an Argentinian singer, composer, producer, engineer, sound designer and film scorer from Mar del Plata. He earned a college degree in Audio Engineering & Music Production while continuing his studies in Music Theory, Harmony and Baroque composing.

A major cinephile, Andres originally wanted to make a living recording and producing music, but during his college training, there was a portion of the curriculum that was all about Audio Post-Production for Film. He became so fascinated by it, he decided to make a career of it. He took special interest in ADR Recording & Mixing, as well as Foley Engineering. To date, he has worked on over 30 films.

A classically-trained musician, Andres combines heavy orchestral work with the edginess and modern textures of progressive rock and the brass-driven dramatic scores from epic films. His music contains strong influences of baroque and classical music, as well as medieval and renaissance music, within the frame of symphonic rock. Andres is keen on ethnic sounds and textures, he spends a great deal of time studying and experimenting with African percussions, instruments and vocal textures, such as mbube and isicathamiya.

The first single “Wish You Could Hear” was just released and features some notable names from Melodic Revolution Records like Colin Tench (Corvus Stone, BunChakeze, CTP, Oceans 5 and The Minstrels Ghost) Petri Lindström (Progeland, Corvus Stone) & Robert Wolf (Corvus Stone)

In a Statement from Andres Guazzelli
I want to thank Nick Katona and Melodic Revolution Records for their trust in my music. It is the culmination of a long process, a musical evolution of many, many years. There was no better place for me than MRR. I found my niche! I hope you enjoy it. Thank you.

Andy John Bradford's Oceans 5 Release Return to Mingulay
We are pleased to announce the release of “Return to Mingulay” The Debut album Andy John Bradford's Oceans 5 featuring 9 beautifully crafted songs.

Andy John Bradford's Oceans 5 is a progressive folk rock band fronted by UK singer songwriter and solo artist Andy John Bradford. When you think of Progressive music, you tend not to imagine a 200 year old traditional tune with sea shanty lyrics. However, "prog" is exactly what Folk Singer/Songwriter Andy John Bradford had in mind when he approached guitarist Colin Tench, with The Mingulay Boat Song. Colin Tench (BunChakeze, Corvus Stone & The Minstrel’s Ghost) to help out.

They assembled an unlikely band, purely to record this one song, and they produced a version of The Mingulay Boat Song unlike any version before. They cared not if anybody actually wanted to hear such a version.

This lineup clearly had great chemistry and despite the fact that they were all busy with their own bands, and they all agreed that this band has something to say. Andy has a great feel for songwriting and Oceans 5 are proving to be rather good at twisting music into a whole new art form, from bouncy sing-along songs to songs with an epic feel.

The debut album "Return to Mingulay" could be considered a progressive folk rock album with an old fashioned crossover style. Nothing too clever or extreme just oceans of melodies, there are 5 core members in Oceans 5 and although they are all influenced by progressive music they all have very different approaches to composition and style. This combination has resulted in songs that really don’t sound like something you’ve heard before. The music owes more to the “anything goes” philosophy of the 70s than the finely tuned precision of 2013. There are clearly echoes of The Strawbs, Pink Floyd and even Thin Lizzy here.

Side Note: Music should never be a perfect science. It should be a conversation with many opinions, unrestricted by language or bias.

Meet The Band:

Andy John Bradford (Solo Artist): 12 String Guitar and Vocals
Colin Tench (BunChakeze, Corvus Stone & The Minstrel’s Ghost): Guitars
Marco Chiappini (Gandalf's Project): Keyboards
Stef Flaming (Murky Red): Bass Guitar
Victor Tassone (Unified Past): Drums & Percussion

Artist: Andy John Bradford's Oceans 5
Album Title: Return to Mingulay
Label: Melodic Revolution Records
Catalog Number: MRR CD 22021
Release Date: October 7th 2013

Track Listing:
01. The Mingulay Boat Song
02. The Whitby Smugglers Song
03. Empty Hands
04. Five O’clock Line
05. Dancing With The Rhythm Of The Shore
06. Invictus The Captain Of My Soul
07. Sails Off The Bay
08. 6000 Friends
09. Fly Away

Featured Guests:

John Orr Franklin signs with Melodic Revolution Records
Newly signed, Melodic Revolution Records recording artist, John Orr Franklin from Austin, TX to release new digital single “Alpha and Omega”. In The coming days Alpha and Omega will be available at all Digital Distributors, iTunes Amazon, emusic, Zune, Napster, bandcamp and others.

Nearing completion of his third full length album, John has begun releasing a series of digital singles to determine the best possible format and packaging for the new release. Ultimately, feedback from the fans will determine the final format for the album. The band would very much like to see the project fully realized on a double vinyl LP with professional cover artwork and digital downloads. The band plans to use the proceeds from sales of the albums first digital singles and they are also planning a fan-based fundraiser on in order to see this dream into reality.

The new album entitled “Soldier On” is a science fiction based story that follows one soldier through his personal trials as he discovers his true identity within the grandeur of a universe that has suddenly gotten much smaller.

In an effort to take the first single “Alpha and Omega” to the next level, John brought on Gavin Harrison, drummer from the band Porcupine Tree, as a special guest on the song. Gavin is the drummer I had in mind when I was writing the demos for this album, so naturally the end result is a perfect fit that stays true to my original vision and then some.

Johns live group, the John Orr Franklin Band, is currently booking live shows in the US and aspires to play for audiences in Europe and South America. Keep an eye out for this awesome live show when it comes to your town!

It's that time of the year when we found out how musicians and the music industries have faired compared to years gone by. While it is true, legitimate downloads and internet CD sales are up over the previous year. It does not even compare to the magnitude of monetary loss or of the abuse by the so called music lover. 95% of downloads last year were unauthorized/illegal | read more here. |

We are destroying the most important language of all time. There was a time when music had value, when a musician could make a living writing recording and releasing music. Yesterday’s musicians are fast becoming today’s t-shirt salesman. While the internet provides us with a vast array of places to find music it is also what is destroying one of the most beautiful languages of all time. Music is meant to entertain us, inspire us and to enrich our lives but most importantly bring us closer together as a global community.

Remember the first song that you ever heard and how it changed your life. Music has real power and value. It is because of music that the walls came down, and the economic relief it has given through many events like | “Farm Aid” |
and | “Live Aid” |
to name but a few.

Every time you hear a song on a legitimate website your local broadcasting station and even in your favorite hang out from the mall to your local bar royalties are paid for these services. This is how the musicians and their labels try to make a living. I don’t think anyone in this business has a problem with free downloads when a label or a band gives it to you for free. Only you the music fan can help save the future of this great language.

Melodic Revolution Records is a small Independent Music Label still in its infancy, and was founded in 2006 by Nick Katona with over 30 years of experience in the music industry. Our goal is simple: Promote Good Independent Music. Were always searching out the best new music [all genres] from around the world.

Melodic Revolution Records current roster includes: Laurie Larson and 23 Degrees to Vertical

Laurie's style is Classic Progressive Rock and Pop with a more retro feel reminiscent of It’s A Beautiful Day or Renaissance mixed with a little bit of Spirit and Kansas. Laurie's MRR Release's include:
Aquila & her 2008 release A Striking Resemblance

23 Degrees To Vertical a Melodic Classic Rock band with Progressive Rock overtones for fans of Heart, Steve Vai, Lana Lane and Rush.
23 Degrees To Vertical releases on MRR. Closer To Home 2006 with a new release in 2009

That said Melodic Revolution Records is always on the lookout for a great new Bands and or Solo Artist(s) to expand our roster.

Bands / Solo Artist(s) If have self released material and are not looking for a label, rather you need help in selling your product (CDs - DVDs & VINYL etcwink ;) then we can help there as well. Melodic Revolution Records is currently working with over 300 bands world-wide, like Gulag Tunes a Russian Surf band. Henceforth a Melodic Progressive Metal band from Brazil featuring former members of Shaaman and Angra, and Honor Bright a Power Pop Rock band from Syracuse NY just to name but a few.

For further consideration and mailing information please drop us a line

Future Releases! by: 23 Degrees to Vertical, Helena Arlock. + various CD samplers.
