lorybianco's SoundClick blog - Singing for the joy of singing
Hi Friends, As you can see my engineer Tom and myself are releasing on soundclick some of the hymns on my up and coming Hymn cd. We are still discovering and working towards the completed project. What you hear here might not be the final version. For those of you who know me from the past, you will notice I'm singing these hymns in a lower range. It might sound different to you, maybe not as loud or strong. In the past I have for a long time been performance minded, singing at the top of my 3 1/2 octave range, etc. What I have been learning these last few years is that because I was perfomance minded I had lost the joy of just singing. Now with God's help I have discovered the joy again, and this time I just want to sing for the love of singing, not to impress or build up my ego,....and let it be according to God's will. Yes, I'm learning to be, to experience life from the eyes of Jesus, to be in God's presence, not to worry, but to experience what is true to God's heart. Soon I would like to ask your feedback on "Just A Closer Walk with Thee", I have two versions, one with background vocals and one without background vocals, the one you hear on my main page is without background vocals. Tonight I will record the backgrounds vocals and try to put it up. I thank you for your input, love, prayers and support. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. God's blessing be with you. Shalom, Lory

i agree with catherine. The song has a little country touch but not only of the style of ur singing, it is also the guitarplaying. Together it has indeed a sense of country, but i think that must not be negative. Your voice sound very natural, in general i like the song. It´s different from your old pop stuff from the past. Takes a little time to getting used to, but after a while it´s nice hearing.

Dear Lory,
thank you for this wonderful song, so I want to comment it. I love the sound of your voice. It is strong and peaceful!!!!
I love your 3 1/2 octave range on "it´s goodbye" from Cinderella soundtrack, but the peace and harmony in "Just A Closer Walk with Thee" I like a little bit more.
I like guitar sounds very much and your voice fits perfectly to it. Well done!!!!
In my young days... I was a fan of pop music but I am grown and now I like these sounds of "Just A Closer Walk with Thee", "All that I need" and "For the beauty". They are all different, they are all a little bit independent! Wonderful sound material!!!

Thank you for your comments. I did manage to add some background harmonies last night, and I like it very much. We will mix the song possibly on Wednesday and then put it up for your comments. The guy who played guitar had literally blood coming from his fingers, from playing on the 5 songs. We recorded in 107 degree weather, his hands were sweating, it was bit intense. Believe me, making this Hymn cd has been the most trying project I have ever done. This cd has been made with blood, tears, and love, it's real, perhaps not the best, but it's honest and comes from the heart from everyone involved. Sometimes your not in the best situations to do the project perfectly, you just have to use what you have, and build on that and make it the best you can. Love you all! God's peace, Lory

Since you didn't read my other comment, the song "Just A Closer Walk with Thee" is great, I think your voice is better now than in the 80s. I always wanted to sing as child as well, but I can't ... I have a horrible voice... I thank God for people like you, who can sing with this angel voice.

Dear Lory,
the new version of "Just a closer walk with thee" is very well! I like the background vocals. The first version is very pure, the second is completed! I have to take a bow!
Good job on this!
When can we get your full cd? And how many songs will be included?
Can´t wait for it :-)
Oh and will it be downloadable or will you make a Cd with booklet and etc. (I hope so)
Many greetings and thank you very much for your new song material!!!!

Thanks Friends for your kind words and feedback. God's blessings be upon you. Yes, there will be a Cd with a booklet of the lyrics. There are some songs that have more arrangements, some with guitar, and some with piano. I'm shooting for some of the piano songs to be recorded live this Friday, pray for me that the piano guy works out. There might be 13 songs on the cd. So far I have recorded 7 songs. In a few weeks I will arrrange a photo session. I'm almost there, yahoo!! Then if all goes well, I'm hoping to do a Hymn tour, depending on if I can find some musicians to play live. Thanks again for your support. Shalom, Lory
